Sustainability Policy

Born from the earth, returned to the earth.

At Creators of Society, we believe beautiful clothing shouldn't come at an unnecessary cost to the world around us. From the fibres we choose to the quantities we produce, we are building Creators of Society around a more considered approach to fashion — creating intentionally, producing responsibly and choosing materials with their future in mind.

Materials, considered.

Natural and plant-derived fibres sit at the heart of Creators of Society.

We predominantly work with materials such as cotton and linen, alongside carefully selected plant- derived and regenerated cellulosic fibres such as TENCELTM, chosen for their quality, feel, longevity and reduced reliance on fossil-derived materials. We consciously avoid conventional synthetic materials such as polyester and nylon as our main garment fabrics, favouring natural and plant-derived alternatives wherever possible.

Where a design requires a functional component — such as an elasticated waistband, sewing thread, labels, fastenings or other trims — a small amount of synthetic material may sometimes be necessary. We believe in being transparent about these details rather than describing a garment as entirely natural when it isn't.

While our garments are thoughtfully crafted from natural fibres, we use polyester thread for its exceptional strength and durability, helping to ensure each piece is made to last and be loved for seasons to come.

As Creators of Society grows, we will continue to seek better alternatives for these components wherever suitable options become available.

Made with purpose, not excess.

For Creators of Society, sustainability isn't only about what a garment is made from. It's also about how much we make in the first place.

Rather than producing large quantities based on predicted demand, we begin with small, considered production runs. Pieces are then replenished in carefully considered quantities according to genuine demand.

This approach helps us minimise unnecessary stock and reduce the risk of overproduction, allowing Creators of Society to grow alongside our Society rather than creating excess simply for the sake of having more.

We would rather thoughtfully replenish something loved than produce something that was never needed.

Colour, consciously.

Colour is an important part of the Creators of Society world, but we want the processes behind it to be considered too. Where applicable, our fabrics are coloured using certified low-impact dyes, selected to reduce the use of harmful substances such as toxic heavy metals and hazardous chemicals.

We work with our suppliers to understand the processes behind our fabrics and will continue to prioritise responsible dyeing and finishing practices as our collections evolve.

Designed beyond a season.

At Creators of Society, we don't design with the idea that a piece should become irrelevant when a season ends. Our collections are created to live beyond a single trend or moment — pieces that can be worn, restyled, cared for and returned to again and again.

From the first sketch to the finished garment, our intention is simple: to create pieces worth keeping.

Returning to the earth.

One of the reasons we favour natural and plant-derived fibres is their potential at the end of a garment's life. Unlike conventional fossil-derived synthetic fibres, many natural fibres are capable of biodegrading under appropriate conditions, allowing the raw fibres to eventually return to the earth rather than remaining indefinitely as plastic-based material.

However, a finished garment is more than its main fabric. Dyes, sewing threads, elastic, labels, buttons and other trims can all affect how a piece should ultimately be disposed of.

When a Creators of Society piece can no longer be worn, repaired, passed on or repurposed, we recommend checking its individual composition and care information before disposal. Where appropriate, removable synthetic elements such as labels, elastic, buttons and other trims should be separated from the natural fabric before the remaining material is sent through a suitable textile recycling or composting route.

An evolving commitment.

We don't believe sustainability is something a fashion brand can simply declare itself to have achieved.

As Creators of Society grows, so will our responsibility. We will continue to question our materials, production quantities, packaging, suppliers and processes, looking for opportunities to make each collection more considered than the last.

Less excess. Better choices. Pieces made to remain.

Born from the earth, returned to the earth.
